Accolade Wines is taking its turn to tap into the £791.9m UK gin market with the launch of Stone’s ginger flavoured gin.
With sales of gin having increased by £235m in the UK over the past year, and data suggesting a further sales increase of 6.2% by 2021, the supplier aims to capitalise in the trend for flavoured premium spirits and the ever-growing demand for gin, especially among millennial shoppers.
The launch of Stone’s Gin will be supported with sampling opportunities across the UK, and Abigail Whithair, brand manager for Stone’s at Accolade Wines, said with 60% of alcohol shoppers identifying Stone’s with ginger wine, the gin is designed to attract new consumers to the brand who enjoy the taste of ginger.
The move into the spirit category follows the introduction of Accolade Wines’ Echo Falls Summer Berries flavoured Vodka in November last year.
David White, marketing director at Accolade Wines, said, “Consumers are always on the look-out for new products, and with the current trends in gin and in bold flavours, we are confident that the product will encourage both our current and new consumers to try Stone’s Gin.”
