As the biggest sugar confectionery season of the year approaches, Wrigley is launching two Halloween limited editions for Skittles and Starburst.
Skittles Darkside is available in singles and 174g pouches, RRP 51p and £1.29 respectively and contains Skittles in Forbidden Fruit, Midnight Lime, Blood Orange, Pomegranate and Dark Berry flavours.
In time to appeal to trick-or-treaters, the brand will also permanently add Skittles Fruit Funsize to its range, which is available in 11x18g bags, RRP £1.39.
Meanwhile, Starburst Trick or Treat 165g sharing bags, RRP £1.29, tap into the sweet and sour trend in fruit confectionery with Apple, Raspberry and Orange flavours. Following the trick or treat tradition, consumers will have to chew the sweet to find out if it is sweet or sour.
Dan Newell, Wrigley confections marketing manager, said the limited editions would help retailers to capitalise on the £223m Halloween opportunity.
“Halloween is a huge sales opportunity for retailers, who should be thinking about stocking up on special packs and how to create in-store theatre,” he added.
