Security technology provider VoCoVo has expressed a desire to focus on independent retailers next year when rolling out its crime-fighting technology.
Director Martyn Jones told Better Retailing: “The headsets allow colleagues to talk to each other apart, which has proved useful in the pandemic. We see employees feeling safer, and more connected to head office.”

In future developments of the product, if colleagues are in danger, a word will be able to be spoken to trigger a response to the police or central office. “Users won’t need to touch the headset, and we find this will be far easier for staff than physically activating a panic button,” said Jones.
He added: “We want to build on our success by focusing on more convenience stores.”
