As we reflect on 2020, it’s clear that the next-gen category has been a huge success.
Nicotine pouches are now worth a staggering £7.4m, vaping has increased by 22% in value sales, and the heated tobacco category has seen sales rise by 270% in the past 12 months.
Looking ahead to 2021, convenience retailers should focus on growing their next-gen range by stocking products like Nordic Spirit, the UK’s number-one nicotine pouch brand, and Logic, the UK’s number-one vape brand.
Another one to watch is JTI’s new heated tobacco device, Ploom S, currently sold exclusively through accredited retailers in London, including 30 convenience stores.
Its Evo tobacco sticks are available for all London retailers to purchase through wholesalers within the M25.
