Sales of ready meals rose by 84% on Valentine’s Day in PayPoint partnered stores, alongside wine and chocolate.
New data from the firm’s 28,000 retail partners revealed purchases of Snackster’s Doner Kebab increased by 84%, when compared to average sales of the same product for the three weeks prior.
This was followed by Eazi Mash Instant Mashed Potato and Vifon Instant Soup which saw increases in sales of 76% and 71% respectively.

Additional brands that saw an uptick inclided Stella Artois (30%), OJ Premium Beer (23%), Echo Falls Summer Berries (16%), Ferrero Rocher (20%), Mars Bars (20%) and Munchies (13%).
PayPoint’s corporate affairs and marketing director, Steve O’Neill said: “The rising cost of living combined with inflation didn’t seem to deter shoppers looking to buy an extra something this Valentine’s Day and as always our network of 28,000 retailers were ready to serve.”
