Third annual golf day launches in memory of Raj Aggarwal

The Raj Aggarwal Family and Golf Day will raise money for The Boparam Charitable Trust this year

A Golf and Family Day in honour of Raj Aggarwal, who passed away from Covid-19 in 2020, is returning on 9 May 2024. The third instalment of the event will be hosted at the Forest of Arden’s Championship Golf Course, West Midlands.

To date, the annual event has helped to raise more than £100,000 for good causes across the country. In 2024, the event organisers, alongside the ACS, have chosen national children’s charity The Boparan Charitable Trust to be the beneficiary of the event. The Trust specialise in supporting a better future for children with disabilities, life-limiting conditions, and those in extreme poverty across the UK.

On the day, some guests will be divided into teams of four while others will be provided with an afternoon of beer, wine and gin tasting from suppliers. The guests will come together on the evening for an awards dinner and live entertainment.

Event founder Sunita Aggarwal said: “I am truly humbled by the continued support of this event from across the convenience stores industry. Particularly in these immensely challenging times for businesses, families, and individuals. I am delighted to be partnering with the Boparan Charity, it has been inspirational to meet their ambassador Rafi and to learn first-hand about the work they do in transforming young lives.”

Kayleigh Biggs, event manager for the Boparan Charitable Trust, said: “A huge thank you to Sunita and her family for choosing the Trust as their charity for 2024. We cannot wait for this amazing day. A special mention to their organising committee Julian, Terry, Sarah and the Association of Convenience Stores. The event will help to raise vital funds to support our work, whilst also honouring the legacy and memory of Raj Aggarwal.”
