The Sunday Times’s price is set to increase by 20p and retailer margins will remain at 21%, effective from Sunday.

The cost of The Sunday Times will rise from £2.50 to £2.70, which will mean retailers will make 56.7p per copy, an additional 4.2p for every copy sold.

The move is forecast to deliver an incremental £6.86m in cash through retailer tills per year, according to The Times managing director Chris Duncan.

This will be the first Sunday Times price rise since September 2012.

All Sunday Times subscription vouchers dated from 17 September 2017 will be credited at the new cover price.
