Thatchers Cider has added a new Cloudy Lemon Cider to its range, a naturally cloudy Somerset cider balanced with lemon juice, with an RRP of £5.50.
The 4% lightly sparkling cider, available in 4x440ml cans, is made from dessert apples including Braeburn, Gala and Red Spur, giving it a crisp, sweet taste, finished with lemon juice. Jonagold apples help give the drink a cloudiness.
The supplier says the launch has been designed as an alternative to berry flavoured ciders, providing consumers with more choice in the category.
Industry profile: Thatcher’s sales director Chris Milton on driving your summer sales
Thatchers fourth generation cidermaker Martin Thatcher said: “We’re looking to be bold and different with Cloudy Lemon and bring some zest into the cider category in time for summer. There’s a clear gap in the market for an alternative flavour in cider, with consumers looking for premium fruit cider in 440ml cans.
“We’re always looking ahead and we believe Cloudy Lemon will reinvigorate the fruit cider category this summer, attracting not only cider lovers, but also those who enjoy the refreshing appeal of a gin and tonic.”
Thatchers Cloudy Lemon follows the launch of Thatchers Rosé Cider in 2019.
