Tesco’s online click & collect offering is set to receive a huge boost thanks to its merger with Booker.
The supermarket giant’s click & collect locations will more than double in number to almost 8,000, with the extra destinations being the 4,000 Premier, Londis and Budgens convenience stores currently controlled by Booker.
Tesco CEO Dave Lewis discussed the strategy with City of London analysts after the announcement of the merger. It will arm Tesco with tools to compete with Amazon’s AmazonFresh offering.
