Stores to see more traffic with new InPost service

InPost is introducing a new service that will see more stores offering flexible delivery

Locker provider InPost has introduced a new Collect service that will allow more online retailers to offer flexible delivery options. This could result in more purchases with online delivery and, in turn, more in-store traffic for shops with an InPost locker on site.

The new Collect service will see online retailers offer delivery to any of the 8,000-plus InPost Lockers directly at the checkout as a cheaper option. InPost’s figures show that the majority of online orders are left incomplete due to deliveries being too expensive – up to 77% of orders are left incomplete, with 50% of shoppers abandoning their baskets.

Neil Kuschel, InPost UK chief executive officer, said: “Our Collect service offers everything shoppers want when it comes to delivery – convenience, affordability and speed. The ability to choose an InPost Locker at checkout is revolutionising the way we receive parcels in the UK, allowing consumers to get their stuff at a time and place that suits them, and at price that won’t put them off.”

InPost expansion continues after tripling revenue

InPost is also a draw to consumers for as it removes the risk of parcel theft – more than half of consumers have had issues with a doorstep delivery in the past, InPost has said.

Kuschel continued: “In a world where parcel theft is on the up, and people are fed up with missed deliveries to their home, our new Collect service provides retailers with a great solution that will increase their shopper appeal, and their sales.”

Increasingly consumers are looking at out-of-home delivery, with 73% of Gen Z and millennial shoppers preferring lockers to parcel shops, the company report. In addition, 84.2% of shoppers believe lockers are a greener solution.
