Mobile app Jisp has launched a new feature allowing stores to access exclusive discounts, promotions and prizes through scanning case barcodes in cash and carry depots.
The company said it had ‘reengineered’ its Scan & Save technology to provide the service. Traditionally, Scan & Save allowed consumers to scan barcodes in Jisp-partnered stores to receive rewards and discounts, but the new feature means retailers can also get the same benefits when shopping in Jisp-partnered cash and carries.
For instance, a retailer could scan a case in depot and receive two cases for the price of one, or a discount off the wholesaler’s case price.
Jisp managing director Ilann Hepworth explained: “Wholesalers receive a promotion and loyalty platform that drives footfall, sales and repeat visits. Retailers are rewarded with exclusive deals and loyalty rewards, and brands increase their opportunity to promote direct to retailers while gaining greater insights into how their product is moving.”
Describing the feature for retailers as the first of its kind, Hepworth added: “We’d been hearing from wholesalers across the globe about the need for a wholesale loyalty solution similar to our retail solution.”
The scheme will be backed by many of the major suppliers already working with Jisp on their consumer offers.
The names of participating brands and wholesalers is yet to be revealed.
