Snappy Shopper hires Greg Deacon in senior role

The group has also increased its store estate in Exeter, Telford and Stoke-on-Trent this year.

Snappy Group has announced the appointment of former Jisp, NFRN and Camelot strategist Greg Deacon as VP of groups and business development.

The announcement today, 6 March, comes as the group focuses on expanding across the UK, having made the additional hires of former Co-op worker Caroline MacGregor, former Skyscanner workers Lisa Venter and Barry McGonagle, and former Google and Uber worker Daniel Calvert to its leadership team.

The group has also increased its store estate in Exeter, Telford and Stoke-on-Trent this year.

Newly-appointed VP, Greg Deacon, will focus on expanding existing retail chain relationships, enhancing the Snappy Shopper marketplace as the only convenience store specific Q-commerce platform, and developing new channels to increase revenue for the group.

He will work with key industry stakeholders like EPoS companies to support on integrations and wholesalers to add value to both retailers and consumers.

Snappy Group CEO, Mike Callachan, said: “We are thrilled to have Greg join the team as we look to continue our growth trajectory. Greg shares our passion for empowering businesses through data and technology and brings invaluable experience and industry relationships. The grocery Q-Commerce space in the UK is heating up and this latest addition to our team perfectly positions us for the next chapter.”

Greg Deacon added: ”I’m absolutely delighted to join the Snappy Group at a truly exciting time for the company as it grows beyond 2,500 merchants globally. I understand the issues caused by inflated retail prices driven by the big three marketplaces, which affect retailers and the wider FMCG industry as well as consumers. Our proposition is unrivalled in supporting and growing partner businesses, offering an alternative model at this challenging time for the sector”.
