Shell and Uber Eats strike national partnership

The partnership aims to expand Uber Eats grocery business, which has grown by 400% in the last year.

Shell and Uber Eats has launched a new partnership by signing a national deal to deliver food and groceries from Shell service stations to a nationwide market of millions of households.

Sunjiv Shah, general manager of Uber Eats in the UK, said : “As demand for grocery and essential items continues to soar on the Uber Eats app, we’re delighted to bring shell to the app as an exclusive partner.”

Uber Eats admits refunds policy is inaccurate

Uber Eats is aiming to enter the everyday grocery delivery market by adding more than 340 Shell forecourt grocery stores across the country to its platform.

The partnership aims to expand Uber Eats grocery business, which has grown by 400% in the last year.

Over 250 of the Shell stores who have joined the app will be available for orders 24 hours a day, offering everyday groceries for 24/7 delivery.

Forecourt demand outstrips supply

Bernie Williamson, GM of Retail in the UK at Shell said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our stores on the Uber Eats, we’re able to reach even more customers and expand our delivery services across the UK> We offer our customers convenience on-the-go and with this new collaboration we can now also offer a wide selection of food and essentials, available for delivery to your door in less than 30 minutes.”

Potential changes under the partnership:

  • More than 340 Shell stores across the UK will join the Uber Eats app
  • More than 750 items are available as shoppers benefit from being able to order everyday essentials, with grocery growing 400% in the last year.
  • Customers will be able to order a huge range of products from Little Waitrose, Jamie Oliver Deli and Budgens concessions
  • Uber Eats customers ordered 120,000 loaves of bread + 250,000 pints of milk in just three months
