The Scottish Grocers’ Federation (SGF) has launched its inaugural D&I Conference, set to take place on 3 April at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
The event, which is free to attend, aims to provide insights, raise awareness, and offer learning opportunities for independent retailers to “help them embrace” a diverse and inclusive culture, while enabling them to implement “impactful change”.
The conference also aims to offer practical tools, advice, and takeaways for retailers.

Pete Cheema, CEO of SGF, said that a diverse and inclusive workplace “stems from individual knowledge and awareness”.
“We are confident that this event will improve understanding and allow retailers to implement best practice towards a more inclusive workplace environment,” he added.
Colm Johnson, managing director of Booker Group retail and a speaker at the event, emphasised that “everyone being more mindful can only bring positive change”.
“Independent retailers are already at the heart of the communities they serve and helping them and their teams be at their best is really important to everyone at Booker,” he said.
