The symbol group announced the partnership last month and the first locker was installed at its company-owned store in Wythall, Worcestershire, last month. It said on a social media post: “Right location adjacent to a railway station. There’s lots of passing traffic and a big car park. It’s going to be interesting to watch customer count over the coming weeks as it is marketed.”
The lockers are self-service kiosks that allow customers to collect parcels from convenience stores if they are unable to sign for them at home. One independent retailer in Coventry told Better Retailing that 50% of customers who use the locker in his store spend in his shop.
