Intrepid Scottish retailers are snapping up pre-sugar levy formulation Irn-Bru, much to the delight of their customers.
Tollhouse Xtra Local in Glasgow, Premier Linktown Local in Fife and Londis Solo Convenience in Glasgow received hundreds of comments after posting the news on Facebook.
Faraz Iqbal from Premier Linktown Local told Retail Express: “The reaction online has been incredible, we’ve got pallets stacked up on the shop floor and it’s selling by the case.”
Seperately, research from Philidelphia showed that the sugar tax in the city was reducing soft drink sales from those who previously purchased sugar heavy soft drinks on a daily basis.
