Chief executive of the Scottish Grocers’ Federation, John Drummond, will step down after 10 years of service.
An announcement earlier today revealed he will retire from the position with effect from April 1 Drummond said: “I have enjoyed immensely the past decade at SGF and hope I have contributed towards making SGF relevant in terms of lobbying and to connect to politics on behalf of members.”
The federation have praised the chief executive for his hard work in a challenging retail environment and his collaboration with the Scottish Parliament to help the convenience store sector.
It has been confirmed that retailer and Labour candidate for North Perthshire Pete Cheema will become the next leader of the Scottish Grocers’ Federation.
