The future of the Scottish government’s food-to-go grant is in doubt due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The annual £300,000 fund helps Scottish shops develop food-to-go offerings, source local products, promote healthy eating and cut waste.

A source close to the Scottish government revealed this year’s April submission deadline is delayed until November, giving more stores a chance to apply for the grants of up to £7,500.
The source said government talks on the scheme’s future were under way, but warned: “The government view is that they have had to spend significant sums of money on business support and that departmental budgets are extremely tight.”
