Rod Stewart’s model railway set is delivering bumper magazine sales according to John King, circulation manager at specialist publisher Peco.
Railway Modeller magazine hit headlines around the world after scoring an exclusive with noted model train enthusiast Rod Stewart.
The front cover of the issue that hit shelves on 13 November featured an interview with the rocker, in which he revealed his vast model railway set in his LA mansion.
The story was picked up by other media outlets, with the magazine’s front page and exclusive pictures receiving widespread coverage.
Publisher Peco said it had printed extra copies in anticipation of the increased interest in the title. King said: “We’ve been inundated with national press, TV and radio and overseas media. It all came from just sending out a few press releases.
“We increased our initial print run so we could get more copies out. Hopefully, there will be plenty of copies to meet the demand.”
Editor Steve Flint added: “We’re fortunate Sir Rod is a model railway fan. We’ve been chasing him for a while.”
