A Spar retailer decided to pay homage to his historic store town, and grab customer attention, by decorating his windows with old photos of Barnstaple.
Tim Roberts opened his second store in North Devon a month ago, but instead of using traditional store frontage he decided to honour the history of his town and customers.
“I wanted to respect the community that will be using my store and I thought it would get people talking,” he said. “I could have chosen wine or carrot images to decorate but I thought that doing this would be more memorable.”
The imagery proved to be a success as he made £2,500 in his first week and three weeks later he has almost trebled that.
