Rapid home delivery startup Gorillas is to provide more competition for independent retailers during the festive period with extensive Christmas opening hours.
The firm, which offers home deliveries in 10 minutes, is to continue running its services from Christmas Eve through to New Year’s Day. It means the company will be able to offer groceries to customers on days when the major supermarkets are to be closed. The range available will include more than 2,000 everyday grocery items.

A Gorillas spokesperson said: “With the majority of major supermarkets likely to be shut across Christmas Day and Boxing Day, Gorillas provides a reliable, and ultra-fast, alternative to making sure your festive feasting is complete.
“Delivering all across the UK, Gorillas has over 20 locations across London, as well as operations in Cambridge, Manchester, Nottingham, Reading and Southampton.”
