The third annual Raj Aggarwal Family and Golf Day, supported by the Association of Convenience Stores, took place at the Forest of Arden Hotel and Golf Resort with more than 80 golfers involved. An additional 70 guests were in attendance, with chocolate, wine and beer tasting available to enjoy.
To date, more than £167,000 has been raised for various charities, with this year’s beneficiary being Boparan Charitable Trust. The national charity offers quick and accessible support to children with disabilities, life limiting conditions and those in extreme poverty.
Sunita Aggarwal, event organiser, said: “I am lost for words, the support shown to me, my family and this event over the past few years has been amazing. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken part or supported to create this legacy in Raj’s name. My personal thanks must go to Sarah, Julian, Terry, Michael and Kelvin, who have driven this event forward each year.”
During the day, guests were entertained by golf trick shot champion Kevin Carpenter and Britain’s Got Talent Magician Richard Jones.
Baljinder Boparan, trustee for the charity, said: “We are truly humbled to have been made the charity for this year’s event. It has been inspirational to see how the retail family have come out in force to make the event a huge success. It will allow us to reach out and build a brighter future for young people across the UK.”
