PepsiCo to launch Wotsits Crunchy in April

Supplier says demand for crunchy-textured savoury snacks is increasing

PepsiCo is expanding its Walkers Wotsits brand with the launch of a brand-new Crunchy range.

The new range will be available to convenience from 11 April in Really Cheesy and Flamin’ Hot varieties, in a 60g £1 price-marked pack (PMP).

According to Katherine Cook, Walkers Snacks marketing manager at PepsiCo, demand for crunchier snacks is increasing. “We know there is an appetite for crunchier snacks, especially when it comes to sharing as 95% of shared snacking occasions are based around this texture,” she said.

“Wotsits Crunchy range aims to help retailers tap into this segment, and also bring new shoppers to the Wotsits brand who may have previously felt a yearning for that crunchy texture.”

The supplier is supporting the new range with a £1.5m marketing campaign launching in April. It will include digital, social media and in-store advertising.
