Several shops using PayPoint One have reported glitches with card payments.
Nash Dhindsa, of Liquor Cellar in Solihull, Warwickshire, told Better Retailing: “When the system glitches, I have to accept cash or lose customers and sales as most people do not carry cash.”

Tilak Kathayat, of Chandra Cash & Carry in London, added: “Sometimes card payments do not go through. Customers try to pay by card, the payment will be processing, but then eventually decline.”
Ben Ford, retail services director for PayPoint, said: “PayPoint is committed to ensuring retailers have a range of services they can rely on. There may be isolated cases where retailers have difficulties processing card payments. These need to be investigated on a case-by-case basis.”
