PayPoint and the Scottish Grocers’ Federation have formed a Scottish Retailers Forum, aimed at addressing the ongoing issues between retailers and PayPoint.
Shahid Razzaq, NFRN vice president for Scotland, was present at the meeting when the forum was conceived.
“I’m happy—it’s a step in the right direction. It’s going to take a while but it will provide feedback on what retailers are looking for, so it’s a good move by PayPoint. Day-to-day problems have already been addressed by PayPoint, so we know they have been listening. It’s all about making the best of a bad situation.”
PayPoint’s head of UK retail management, Darren Tredgett, said, “We are keen to engage with all of our retailers to understand their business and help them profit from having PayPoint in store. We’re looking forward to having constructive discussions and joining forces on addressing the key challenges facing retailers.”
The Scottish Retailers Forum plans to meet twice a year, with the first meeting in early 2016, to address issues concerning bank charges, commission, fraud and more.
