SHS Drinks has raised the bar in the spirit-flavoured cider category with the launch of amaretto-flavoured Orwell’s.

The 5.5% ABV cider will be available from June and brings together two of the best-performing and most popular categories with 18 to 30-year-old consumers – flavoured cider and spirits.

Mark Hopper, head of innovation and development at SHS Drinks, said: “Flavoured cider is now the biggest sector, accounting for nearly half of all take-home premium glass bottled cider sales. With flavoured cider sales up by 44%, it’s also been the powerhouse of the category during the past year.”

Orwell’s cider follows the launch of SHS Drinks’ bourbon and rum-flavoured spirit beers.
