Despite traditionally being focussed on technology and toys, Black Friday is coming to One Stop stores this month, in an experimental move from the fascia.
The stores will be slashing the prices on spirits, batteries, soft drinks and beer during the Black Friday weekend, which falls on November 27-30.
The offers will be backed this month by promotional leaflets and social media activity, as well as posters in store.
Lizzie Reynolds, customer director at One Stop, said it could develop the promotions more in the future if this year is a success.
“No one in the UK has really delved into whether Black Friday is relevant for the convenience market and whether our customers would like to benefit from hard discounts on the more everyday essentials during this period,” she added.
