One Stop chain joins ACS

Convenience store chain One Stop has become a member of the ACS.

The Tesco subsidiary has more than  750 stores across England and Wales, all of which will be included within the membership agreement.

CEO of One stop Tony Reed said: “It’s a really positive step for One Stop and the ACS to be working together.  The ACS does an excellent job in ensuring the Government is aware of the issues facing our sector and we believe we can play a part by getting involved and helping to raise the profile of their work.”

One Stop’s decision to join the association comes after the ACS’ move in December to relax its membership rules and open up to multiple retailers for the first time.

Last year, the ACS told Retail Express that the move aimed to reflect a wider change in the convenience market. ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “We are delighted to welcome One Stop into ACS membership, further strengthening our voice as a body which represents a wide range of convenience retailers on key issues to Government. We look forward to working with One Stop in the future.”
