One Stop has begun alcohol test-purchasing in franchise stores to ensure its retailers are compliant with the law.
Several One Stop retailers reported receiving results from visits this month. Stores were tested on whether they had asked for ID, made eye contact and examined the customer long enough to determine their age during the transaction.
Coventry-based One Stop franchisee Aman Uppal said: “Good to see One Stop conducting age-verification test purchases and encouraging retailers to complete e-learning courses to ensure everyone is up to date with current guidance.”
Test-purchasing on vape and tobacco will also be conducted. Franchisees who fail will be asked to build a training plan with their business development manager.
