Nisa is to reduce its fuel levy fee back to the original £4.88 charge when it was introduced in February 2022.
It will see the fee dropped from £6.10 from 22 January. The fee is applied to each delivery the wholesaler’s retailers make and is adjusted on a quarterly basis.
In communication sent to stores, seen by Better Retailing, Nisa said: “Based on the latest fuel price data and trends, we are pleased to announce the fuel levy charges will reduce to £4.88 per delivery from Monday 22nd January.

“As previously communicated, we set the fuel levy quarterly, in line with policy based on a 13-week moving average. In the last review, we increased the levy to £6.10. Since the previous review, fuel price has fallen reducing the quarterly average to £1.17 so we will reduce the levy to £4.88.”
The firm added it will continue to track the cost of fuel and “make any necessary adjustments,” while also reviewing delivery days and operations to “achieve maximum efficiency.”
