Nisa supports Scottish Grocer Federation’s healthy living day

A retailer worked with the Scottish Grocer Federation for a store event, holding the largest-ever SGF healthy living day at Markinch Primary School.

A retailer in Scotland helped local children create healthier habits last week by partnering with the Scottish Grocer Federation for a store event.

It was the largest-ever SGF healthy living day, with 300 children visiting the Greens of Markinch store from Markinch Primary School.

The event allowed the children to sample different kinds of exotic fruit and soup, complete a treasure hunt around the store and learn more about living healthily.

Dougie Anderson, business development manager for Eros Retail, which owns the store, said the event will be promoted in four local papers, which will reach new customers.

“This is the difference between local independent retailers and big supermarkets. This is how independents can do things differently and show they are a positive,” he added.

The children also received a goody bag that contained fruit, pens and bottles of water.

“We’ve not had to invest that much. We received all the fruit from Nisa by speaking to our local rep and we organised the soup to come from a local supplier,” he said.
