Nisa’s new managing director Peter Batt has pledged that he will do as “much as he can” to support retailers through the cost-of-living crisis.
In November, Batt shared a video update eight weeks after he took on the role from his predecessor Peter Batt. In the video, seen by Better Retailing, he said: “After eight weeks in the role I want to give some initial thoughts. We’re going to listen going into 2023 and beyond.

“We are going into the most challenging 18 months of the last decade. We all understand the cost-of-living crisis and I’m going to keep listening to you all to demonstrate we will do as much as we can to support you.”
Batt also acknowledged the challenges Nisa retailers face around rebates, surcharges and the fuel levy applied to each delivery into stores. He also made reference to a recent £5m investment designed to improve pricing disparities between Co-op own label in Nisa and Co-op stores.
