Nisa announces positive Christmas trading period

After a strong Christmas trading performance, results show Nisa Christmas sales are up 2.7% like-for-like.

Nisa has announced a 2.7% rise in its Christmas like-for-like sales after it invested in promotions on its fresh produce.

The company’s fresh produce range had a 17.7% increase for the 10-week Christmas period, driven by its ‘Festive 5’ offer, which included five Heritage own-label produce lines.

Parsnip sales increased by 130%, brussels sprouts were up by 101% and carrots soared by 288%.

There was also an increase in the number of retailers switching to the Nisa fascia, with 77 new Nisa’s opening in the 10 weeks compared to 54 last year.

Nick Read, Nisa Retail CEO, said: “We believe we have delivered a strong promotional mix to drive sales and footfall in our members’ stores.”
