NewstrAid provides free mental well-being resources to retailers

Industry charity, NewstrAid, is offering independent retailers and their staff access to a free well-being helpline and website

Industry charity, NewstrAid, is offering independent retailers and their staff access to a free well-being helpline and website

The NewstrAid Wellbeing Suite includes a helpline retailers can access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which provides confidential ‘in the moment’ help and advice from clinically-trained counsellors, as well as a Wellbeing website, featuring hours of industry leading health and well-being podcasts, plans and resources.

The Wellbeing Suite forms part of the charity’s Mindful May initiative, which promotes the benefits of good mental health. As part of the initiative, NewstrAid is encouraging everybody to pledge to do something positive that supports their mental health and well-being during this month.

Speaking about the resource, NewstrAid CEO Neil Jagger said: “We are delighted to be able to offer independent newspaper and magazine retailers all the benefits of a workplace well-being programme with absolutely no cost to their business. We know that staff retention in our industry can be difficult in the current climate, and being able to provide employees with a range of resources that support their mental health and well-being is a great way to show they are a valued part of the business.”

The online resources can be accessed at newstraid/spectrum.Life. Retailer need to click on the ‘New here? Sign in’ link, where they can create a username and password using the organisation code: news2021. Once registered, the resources can also be accessed using the same login details via the Spectrum.Life app, which can be downloaded on android or IOS.

The free helpline can be accessed by calling 0808 196 2016 or by sending a text or a WhatsApp message ‘Hi’ to 00353 87369 0010
