According to retailers and industry sources, Simply Coffee ceased trading at the end of April, leaving some retailers paying £500 per month for the lease of coffee machines through third-party Henry Howard Finance.
Raaj Chandarana, of Tara’s Londis in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, is 18 months into a three-year contract with the manufacturer. He told RN: “I’m haemorrhaging £500 a month for a machine that does not work, can’t be serviced and is taking up space.
“My hands are tied and Henry Howard Finance doesn’t care.”
The company lists its head office in Paignton, Devon. However, it is listed on Companies House as SPV Limited, registered to 145 Granville Street in Birmingham. The only director registered to the company is Jason McNally.
Better Retailing was unable to speak to Simply Coffee when contacted.
The collapse of Simply Coffee follows the administration of Espresso Essential earlier this month.
