The Wine and Spirit Trade Association has welcomed figures revealed in Parliament that show underage admissions to hospital due to alcohol have fallen over the past five years. The admissions wholly attributable for children under 12 years old has fallen 43% to 209. The figure for under 17s has dropped 37% to 4,360. All admissions including those partially attributable to alcohol for the same age group have fallen 20% to just above 10,000 for the five-year period
from 2008.
