Retailers praised in New Year Honours list for pandemic resilience

Convenience retailers have been recognised in the government’s New Year Honours list 2022, for their continuing hard work during the pandemic.

Throughout the pandemic, retailers helped their communities by providing essentials and services.

Retailers featured on the list include Hardip Singh Atwal, who runs Atwal Convenience Store in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, and Lynsey Cargill and Helen Ramsey, of Ancrum Pantry in Roxburghshire, Scotland.

All were awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for “going the extra mile for customers”.
