New HND Month £200 daily prize draw for stores announced as deadline to take part approaches

Stores that take part in Home News Delivery (HND) Month in October will have a chance to win £200 every day during the campaign in a first of its kind prize draw.

Publishers have revealed that every morning at 10am during October, the unique number of a participating store or HND agent will be published on HNDMonth.co.uk and on HND Month’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Each day, retailers must check to see if they’ve won and then contact HND Month to claim the prize before 10am the following day. The prizes will be paid as £200 credit on the winners’ weekly wholesale invoices.

Those yet to sign up for HND Month have until 4pm on 16 August to register at HNDMonth.co.uk.

Participating newspaper sellers will receive HND Month-branded  point of sale kits and leaflets designed to grab additional long-term customers. Analysis by RN found more than 20,000 newspaper subscriptions were taken out during the campaign last year, bringing retailers significant extra revenue.

The campaign is backed by all national and many regional publishers, who are providing strong print subscription offers to help convert casual readers to both home delivery and pick-up in store subscriptions.

Describing the success of the campaign last year, Desmond Barr, of Sinclair Barr Newsagents in Paisley, said he generated 28 new orders for his store. “It was an incredibly productive project and I would take part again,” he explained.

“We had a regular feed of one or two sign-ups a week all month,” said Will Garner, of Garner’s News. “I did a leaflet campaign in September to line up with it, and overall we brought in 70 new customers.”

All participants will be sent their unique draw number via their registered email address in the week commencing 16 September.
