MyHermes parcel print plan pushes partner store sales

The Pay and Print In Store’ solution allows those without a printer at home able to go in store and have the delivery sticker and barcode printed by staff, who will then take the parcel on behalf of the delivery company.

The retailer stands to benefit from both the additional transaction fees paid to them and the increased footfall. From start to finish the company claims it only takes 60 seconds to complete the new parcel print and drop-off transactions.

the parcel service announced that 1,500 partnered stores will be able to provide the label printing service by Christmas, with more to follow in 2018.

MyHermes boss Claire Phelan said: “Our ‘Pay and Print In Store’ service has been developed in response to customer demand and offers people more choice when sending parcels to family or friends. This includes the option of visiting a ParcelShop without pre-booking a delivery.”

Of the MyHermes partnered stores, roughly 250 are through Payzone, down from 750 following a cull by MyHermes and Payzone last year.
