Election fever is in the air as consumers get the chance to vote for their favourite M&M’s character in Mars’ new campaign this month.
The activity is part of the £8m marketing investment Mars Chocolate is placing behind M&M’s. The campaign includes TV, press, radio and social media advertising and will be communicated via packs of Peanut, Chocolate and Crispy M&M’s. PoS materials are available to retailers to support the campaign.
Customers will be able to vote by visiting the M&M’s Facebook page.
Bep Dhaliwal, trade communications manager for Mars Chocolate, said there is an opportunity for retailers to create in-store theatre with the campaign.
“We’re confident that coming at the same time as the general election the M&M’s characters will be picking up on the most topical subjects in a fun way, making their election a hit with consumers,” she added.
