Mondelez International has unveiled the details of this year’s Christmas activity for its Cadbury and Maynards Bassetts brands. Here are the eight new products:
1) Cadbury Snow Bites Cartons, RRP 60p.
Declan Duggan, Christmas & Halloween senior brand manager at Mondelez International, said: “We’re using a format that has been successful with Mini Eggs to drive impulse purchases.”
2) Maynards Bassetts Jelly Snowmen, RRP £1.32
These are sharing bags of snowmen-shaped jellies, available in cases of 12.
3) Cadbury Snow Bites and Heroes Crackers, RRP £2.99
These can be pulled apart revealing four Snow Bites bags or Cadbury Dairy Milk, Caramel, Wispa and Fudge.
4) Cadbury Fudge Minis Tube, RRP £1.42
The new line, Cadbury Dairy Milk Freddo Faces and Buttons tubes will offer shoppers a free entry to Cadbury World.
5) Maynards Bassetts Juicy Chews Festive Jar, RRP £1.42
Mondelez is recommending that if retailers are tight on space they should stock one Jelly Babies Jar and this new line.
6) Cadbury Milk Tray 180g, RRP £4.25.
“We’ve relaunched this as currently it’s as big as a 360g pack so when consumers see it they don’t know what it’s for. The 180g pack should be just to say ’thank you,’” says Duggan. The 180g line currently has a 20% distribution, so could be an opportunity for retailers to stand out.
7) Heroes Advent Calendar, RRP £4.99
Targeted at teens, this advent calendar is digitally interactive. Each day you can scan the opened door with the Blippar app to access different filters for selfies.
8) Cadbury Dairy Milk Classic, RRP £5.95
These selection boxes contain four tablets with designs on them from the late 70s and early 80s, tapping into nostalgia.
“People are willing to spend more at Christmas, so we’ve designed some of these new products at higher prices so we can drive some value back into the category,” said Duggan.
