Lloyd Russell-Moyle, Labour’s MP for Brighton Kemptown, said business rates, retail crime and the role of post offices were among the issues the party would tackle when in power.
Speaking at the NFRN’s centenary conference in Brighton this week, Russell-Moyle said he was concerned that the likes of Amazon and Tesco were able “to squeeze small shops out”, and called for a reduction in high- street business rates, and increases on out-of-town retail warehouses.
He also said Labour would address news distribution monopolies.
