LA Foods donates £1,000 to local school

The contribution brings the total amount donated to the school by the store to £5,000

LA Foods, which operates the Nisa Local on Uxbridge Road, has donated £1,000 to St. Stephen’s CE Primary School through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity.

The donation was presented during the store’s relaunch event, which was attended by headteacher Michael Schumm and pupils from the school.

Nisa retailers raise funds for charitable causes through MADL, with money generated via the sale of Co-op own-brand products in store. Last year, LA Foods reached the £100,000 donation milestone to local communities.

Store manager Malik Zameer said: “Supporting the community is very important to us. We’re proud to have been able to contribute £1,000 to St. Stephen’s CE Primary School, which will help fund valuable resources and activities for local children.”

Kate Carroll, head of charity at Nisa, added: “It’s wonderful to see Nisa partners like LA Foods making such a big difference to their local school. Donations like this are vital in helping schools and community groups thrive.”
