Knife attack leaves staff shaken at Best-one store

A knife attack at a Best-one store in London has left staff reeling

Staff have been left “shaken up” following a stabbing between two members of the public at a Best-one store on Fulham Palace Road in Hammersmith.

Police were called at 6.10am on Monday 18 November to an 18-year-old man suffering stab wounds in Fulham Palace Road.

Maulak Vaghasiya, a member of staff at the Best-one, told Better Retailing: “Someone came running in here really suddenly in the morning, and then another man came running in after him, and stabbed him in the leg. The police were called and they got here really quickly, they collected all the evidence from the store, and we were open again very soon after.”

Vaghasiya added that he was not in the store when the incident took place, and the staff are all okay but “shaken up”.

The Met Police told the Standard that the victim had left the shop, before being pushed back in and stabbed. They added that he had been “chased by a group of males” and was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening and non-life changing.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “We dedicate a large amount of resources to tackling knife and gun crime and other serious violence. Our activities include increased visible police patrols and weapons sweeps in impacted communities.

“Our local Safer School Officers work closely with community partners to deliver knife crime diversion workshops to educate young people about the consequences of carrying weapons.”
