The world’s first yoghurt on a stick is set to hit convenience chillers with sales of Kerry Foods’ fruity Yollies products.
Yollies currently come in strawberry and raspberry variants with no artificial colours or flavours, and are targeted at the children’s lunchbox market. The Yollies also feature pirate and Viking characters, with collectable sticks.
The launch will benefit from a £5m Brave Bones Club marketing campaign that kicked off in July, which will see the campaign featured across TV, cinema and online.
Kerry Foods said Yollies has already experienced strong sales after an initial launch in Asda, and the supplier’s research predicts similarly strong sales as Yollies are rolled out to convenience stores, with Nisa debuting the product this month.
Lee Willett, dairy marketing controller at Kerry Foods, said: “Eighty-four per cent of parents said they would definitely or probably buy Yollies for their kids, so we are confident that they will unlock a massive opportunity for retailers. We look forward to launching Yollies into other convenience channels throughout 2015.”
