JW Filshill has relaunched its website with mobile-friendly upgrades to accommodate the needs of retailers who order on the move via their phone or other hand-held device.
The new site also complements the relocation of Filshill’s headquarters from Hillington to a purpose-built distribution centre at Westway Park near Glasgow Airport in March 2023.
Simon Hannah, chief executive officer at Filshill, said: “We have settled well into our new, state-of-the-art distribution depot which is delivering improve efficiency and reducing costs. It is important our website not only reflects our physical infrastructure at Westway but also online, highlighting our customer-centric service that we offer all our current and future customers.
“As today’s generation of retailers embraces technology and expects cutting-edge solutions to help them stay on top of their businesses – in the shop, at home, or on the move – we have responded to customer needs to make finding products and ordering faster more straightforward.”
The new website is also linked to the Filshill app which features time-saving features such as instant barcode scanning for convenient ordering and instant notification of current promotions.
Customers can also manage online orders through delivery tracking, plus account management for payment notifications.
Customers can also search Filshill’s full product range, place orders, and view their account history.
Those using the wholesaler’s ReScan EPoS system also benefit from real-time data that provides information to help them drive profitability and run their shops much more efficiently.
Alan Cunningham, managing director at creative agency Totalize Media, commented: “The move to Westway allowed us to brand the new building and introduce elements that reflected the company’s culture and many technological and business advances.
“We incorporated some of those elements into the website design to achieve one of Filshill’s main objectives: to further differentiate themselves from every other wholesale company in their sector. It was important to us both that we created a design and a website that was unique as they are as a company.”
Filshill’s group marketing manager, Sue Man, said: “Our goal was to create a mobile-friendly platform that is as visually striking as our custom-built depot.”
As part of its 10-year growth strategy, Filshill relocated the business to its bespoke 120,400 sq ft distribution depot to allow it to increase operational capacity and service more stores across Scotland and the north of England.
