Jisp stores see footfall rise despite retail lag

Jisp has seen a year-on-year shopper increase of 17.13% in June 2024

Despite months of consecutive decline for independent and symbol stores, stores working with Jisp’s Scan & Save app have seen an increase in shoppers year on year (+17.13) and month on month (+5.38%) , according to new figures recently released by the technology company.

Jisp partnered stores also saw a year-on-year surge of repeat customers by more than a quarter (+26.34%) and month-on-month growth of +7.22%.

This boost is despite the independent and symbol sector overall seeing a year-on-year sales fall of -5.5% in the three months to 9 July 2024. The retail technology company ascribes the dampened sales to uncertainty surrounding the General Election on 4 July, adverse weather conditions, and reduced footfall.

Jisp added that the exceptional success it has seen in its stores demonstrate the Scan & Save app’s ability to retain customers ‘through superior service and engagement’.
