Jisp launches loyalty scheme for independent stores

Jisp has launched a white label edition of a loyalty and rewards platform

Retailers and wholesalers will be able to independently adopt a loyalty scheme through Jisp, with the company stating that it has developed this option due to the lack of schemes available outside of supermarket chains. The white-label opportunity is also for businesses that do not have the technology or resources to run a loyalty scheme themselves.

Ilann Hepworth, managing director at Jisp, said: “We’ve spent the last three years developing and perfecting our loyalty and rewards platform, Scan & Save, which has done a brilliant job of providing independent convenience store owners the chance to build customer loyalty while also driving sales and footfall.”

Hepworth added that over the past six months, it has “become clear through conversations had with retailers, wholesalers and the media” that there is a “clear and pressing need for more loyalty and rewards schemes”, outside those employed by the big multiple supermarket groups.

Hepworth continued: “We hope to help those businesses who want their own loyalty scheme but don’t have the time, expertise or resource to develop one, to bridge that gap in the market.”

Jisp’s new scheme aligns with its own brand, following three years of developing and utilising technology tested through Scan & Save. The platform also comes with in-app advertising, competitions, and targeted email and push messaging to help businesses ‘maximise their promotional and commercial opportunities’.

Retailers recently told Better Retailing that Jisp had failed to pay money owed to them for several months, sometimes amounting to five-figure sums. While the company has assured retailers that it has “resolved” its funding issues, its newly released accounts for the year ending August 2023 show the firm to be technically insolvent, with both short- and long-term liabilities outstripping its asset values.
