An innovative retailer has launched his own gin brand, following on from the success of a craft beer brand he released earlier in 2024.
Kaual Patel, of Nisa Torridon Convenience in Lewisham, south London, worked with a local distillery to produce 200 units of Gin In a Tin.
The limited run costs £39.99 per 50cl tin and Patel has already sold 31 units since it went on sale on 13 December.

For the brewing process, the range has taken influence from a bay leaf and olive trees planted at the front of Patel’s Nisa store.
Speaking exclusively to Better Retailing, Patel said: “I’ve had the idea developing for several months now.
“My own Torridon Beer was really successful but Gin in a Tin is on a whole other level. It’s a more premium product and I’m expecting demand to increase as we get closer to Christmas.
”No other retailer has done anything like this and it paves the way for similar products in the future.”
