Post Office retailers have formed a new group, Voice of the Postmaster (VotP) in order to campaign for fair pay for subpostmasters.
A statement by the 500-retailer-strong VotP said it wanted to avoid “a second Post Office scandal” of branch bankruptcy. Inside sources told Better Retailing it had met Post Office, NFSP and CWU officials.
The statement said the Post Office had offered “conciliatory words, but no change yet”. The VotP comes after a public inquiry exposed more claims the NFSP had failed to act over Horizon system warnings.
